My first foray into weddings was at the age of 14, as an assistant to a wedding florist/caterer.

Things were different back then - you got married in the church sanctuary & had your reception in the fellowship hall.

Mints, punch, nuts, & cake.

Things have changed!

As a wedding coordinator, I like to get to know my brides to get a feel for what their vision is for their wedding.

I think it is important to be comfortable with each other and for you to trust me.

I have helped plan weddings all over the South and I love getting to know the families involved.

  • We will have a phone call to discuss your general plans. I will send you a Google Form to fill out prior to us talking on the phone that asks questions regarding your wedding day. This phone call is a chance for me to understand the vision you have for your wedding or maybe even help steer you in a direction for your wedding. I like to keep things casual and enjoy hearing your thoughts on this initial call.

  • After getting some initial facts about your wedding, we will meet in person to discuss further details. This gives us both an opportunity to think through the finer points of the wedding.

  • An on site venue visit is essential to understanding the layout and coordinate placement before the rehearsal. I like to walk through a space, get a feel for what we are working with, and adjust plans accordingly. I have had several venue visits where after the walk through, the bride and I decide to change layouts completely once we have both seen the space!

  • The rehearsal is key for a seamless wedding ceremony. It gives me an opportunity to met all the bridal party and discuss any questions or concerns. I am for 30-40 minutes for rehearsals.

  • You made it! It’s you and your fiancé’s day to relax, enjoy and make memories! That is my goal. You are in good hands. I have handled all sorts of “issues” in my role as a wedding coordinator. I am your advocate and am there to make sure your day runs smoothly.

For my brides, I am their
go to” person.

All questions and concerns go through me on the wedding weekend.

There are always hiccups; and unless they ask me, most brides never know!  That’s my job - to take care of any issues and figure out solutions.

  • Yes! I have coordinated weddings all over the South. I have my passport and am willing to travel anywhere you need me!

  • In order to ensure an enjoyable and organized wedding experience, I need to have those initial meetings and venue visits. My coordination goes way beyond telling the bridal party when to walk down the aisle. I like to get to know my brides so that I can serve them in the best possible way.

  • Absolutely. Without fail, I always think of details the bride has not thought of - especially at the venue visits. If you have any doubts, I can give you examples or you can talk with my former brides!

It is important that the bride, groom and their families are not running around the day of trying to take care of details. That’s my job!

  • The sooner the better. I can give decor and floral advice and also recommend ways to stay within budget. I like to say 6 months, however, I have successfully been hired 3 weeks prior😊

  • Hum. Well, I am good at my job and I have many brides that will attest to that fact. I give 100% and am honest (with Southern charm). I love what I do!

My services include the 2 in-person meetings (including the venue visit), the rehearsal and all day of the wedding. I also offer decorating ideas/advice.

Melissa was the sweetest addition to my wedding weekend.

She selflessly and faithfully served in the months before, the week of, and of course during the wedding weekend. She answered my numerous questions leading up to the wedding and did it all with such joy and gentleness. She handled any issues that arose during the wedding weekend and did so professionally and kindly.

She is filled with a love from the Lord that shines so bright in all she does and she spent time with me in prayer before the wedding weekend. She strove to honor and glorify the Lord above all else! I think so highly Melissa Young and the way she came alongside me to help my wedding come to life.

They do not make them like Mrs. Melissa anymore! Not only is Melissa as caring as she is resourceful, she is balanced and thorough in all she does! As a bride, I had many dreams about what my day would be like, as well as many things to consider for the night before and day of!

Each time I reached out to Melissa, I knew I could expect an intentional response, as well as a listening ear. Some might even call her the connection between dreams and reality! I gave her a big picture, and she talked me through every detail to make it happen!

She is loving, but also handy! There is no such thing as “a pickle” when she’s around! We are SO thankful for all of the thought, time, and heart that Melissa poured into our day! To my knowledge, everything went without a hitch (even in the pouring rain) thanks to Melissa Young!

Having Mrs. Melissa as our day-of coordinator was one of the best decisions we made for our big day.

Having Mrs. Melissa coordinate brought a sense of joy and peace to our wedding day and reception. Every idea we shared, she received with enthusiasm, and somehow made it all come together even more beautifully than we imagined.

Her care and attention to details were evident in every moment, from the timeline she managed to the quiet reassurance she offered throughout the day. I never had to worry about what was happening behind the scenes because I knew she had everything under control.

Our wedding felt effortless, seamless, and deeply personal, and that's all thanks to her thoughtful presence, grace, and incredible execution.

If you're looking for someone who will bring joy, care, and genuine dedication to your special day, we highly recommend Mrs. Melissa.
